The Presidency of Communications of the Republic of Turkey organized the “Disaster Communication Symposium on the First Anniversary of the Disaster of the Century” at the Conference Hall of the Presidency of Communications Central Organization Building on February 5-6, 2024. The symposium addressed topics such as Disaster Communication Management and Coordination, Combating Disinformation in Crisis Communication, the Function of National and Local Media in Disaster Communication, Public Interest Broadcasting and Media Ethics in Natural Disasters, and Social Media and Citizen Journalism. From our faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senem Akkaya Güngör, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burçe Akcan, Dr. Beste Nigar Erdem, Dr. Selver Dikkol Akçay, and Research Assistant Eda Akgün Sakızcı from our faculty participated in the symposium together with our students.
