3rd Communication Symposium in the Digital Age

Under the leadership of Ankara University Faculty of Communication (İLEF), in collaboration with Başkent University, Hacettepe University, and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, and with the participation of relevant departments from Çankaya University, Atılım University, and Ankara University of Social Sciences, which are active in the field of communication, the 3rd CIDA 2022 Communication Symposium in the Digital Age was held between 12-15 October 2022. Our Rector Prof. Dr. İ. Haldun Müderrisoğlu, our Dean Prof. Dr. Özcan Yağcı and academics from our faculty attended the opening of the symposium.

On the first day of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Senem Gençtürk Hızal presented ‘Working on History (if any) in the Digital Age: A Self-Reflective View,’ and Dr. Lecturer Banu Erşanlı Taş presented ‘From Wall to Screen: The Journey of Digitalisation in Cinema Film Posters.’ On the second day of the symposium, our Dean, Prof. Dr. Özcan Yağcı, moderated the session ‘Ecology and Sustainability in Digital Communication’; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihan Gider Işıkman from our faculty presented ‘Vlogs as a Tool for Everyday Activism in the Digital Age: Self-Representation through Doctor Vlogs,’ Dr. Beste Nigar Erdem presented "The Search for an Alternative Universe at the Intersection of Anxiety and Hope: A Qualitative Study Based on YouTube Videos and Comments Related to the Metaverse,‘ and Dr. Ebru Akçay, Dr. Beris Artan Özoran, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlgar Seyidov jointly presented ’The Use of NFTs as a Public Relations Tool: They delivered their presentations entitled ‘A Discussion on Social Benefit’.
