Ankara Brand Festival 2016

Ankara Brand Festival, hosted by Ankara Chamber of Commerce on 14-15-16 December 2016 in Ankara Congresium, took brands to the future with this year's theme "Brands Turn to the Future in the Shadow of the Science Tree". Brands embarked on a fantastic journey led by science and technology. The festival, on the one hand, focused on the brands illuminated by the light of science, on the other hand, offered new ways based on science and technology to established companies, young people and start-up-incubation initiatives. While the visitors were traveling on the brand planet, they had the opportunity to reach companies and brands enlightened by science throughout the festival.

Başkent University, which was established in 1993 for the purpose of "quality" and its affiliates were among the brands that left a mark in the festival. At the Brand Festival, there was great interest in the stands of Başkent University. On the first day of the festival, Başkent University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Haberal visited the stands and took a close interest in all brands. Prof. Dr. Ali Haberal, drawing attention to the importance of branding and quality, stated that every growing brand will contribute to the Turkish economy and stated that Başkent University, with all its institutions and organizations, has been a brand that puts quality at the forefront since the first day. During the 3-day festival, approximately 15 thousand participants accompanied the programs held in 10 different halls.

In the morning part of the training program titled "Digital Innovation in Branding" organized by Başkent University on the second day of the festival contributed to the brand perspective of the participants with their presentations: Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Varoğlu “What Should Be Done To Not Be An Entrepreneur And Innovative?”, Prof. Dr. Nermin Özgülbaş “Entrepreneur's Digital Financial Resources”, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tolungüç "Structures Related to Creative Industries", Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ercil “International Innovation and Digitization”, Erman Demir “Building a Creative Professional Identity in Precise Conditions” and Assoc. Dr. Okan Yeloğlu addressed the participants with presentations titled “Technology Literacy”, In the afternoon; Assoc. Dr. Günseli Bayraktutan “Digital Game, Creativity and Innovation”, Asst. Assoc. Dr. Emek Barış Kepenek “Knowledge Production in the Digital Age: Universities and Entrepreneurship Centers” and Assoc. Dr. Senem Gençtürk Hızal “Vertigo in Brand Communication” were presented in the last part of the trainings given by Başkent University. There was a section titled "Fresh Ideas-The Role of Pre-Incubation Centers from Idea to Product", conducted by the moderator Instr. Arzu Fırlarer, where Başkent University students and graduates participated as talkers.

On the last day of the Ankara Brand Festival, hosted by the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, the participants were given certificates and the brands that added value to Ankara were awarded. Speaking at the ceremony, ATO President Gürsel Baran thanked all the participants; “The Turkish economy will be enriched with its brands. The added value of the brand should replace contract manufacturing. Our brands are the milestones of our goal to be among the top 10 economies of the world. In order to increase our exports quickly and to close the current account deficit, we need to focus on the brand issue with all our energy. We thankfully have the potential to produce a brand with our brilliant young people and people with innovative ideas.”
